RESERVES 2009 Leopold: Reserve Shiraz-Viognier Complex with rich mulberry, licorice and berry aromas. Fruit driven palate with soft, smooth tannins. A traditional co-fermentation in open vats and maturation in a combination of new and seasoned French hogsheads form an alliance between well integrated oak and fruit tannins to give a lingering, soft finish. Vin et Gastronomie: A simple pan seared pork tenderloin with a soy and maple syrup glaze, stir fried broccolini and sticky coconut rice would be delicious. You could try it with poultry (chicken or duck) in a master-stock or a shitake mushroom and udon noodle soup with beef stock. 2007 Victor: Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon A full bodied, yet elegant cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon with berry, cassis and chocolate flavours. Firm ripe tannins and a long flavoursome finish. A stellar vintage producing remarkable fruit, this wine is still but young. Juicy tannins, intensity and length yet kept in check by the fact that the fruit is grown in a cool climate. Vin et Gastronomie: Allow this wine the benefit of decanting. It will pay dividends as you watch the butterfly emerge over time. An investment in cellaring will also reward as well. Roasted beef dishes that capitalise on caramelisation of fats and juices with a sturdy well made jus (or gravy) will sing ‘hallelujah’! Accompany with the sweetness of quality roasted potato and onions and you will be in heaven. 2013 De Beaurepaire: Blanc de Blanc A fresh and lively ‘bubbly’ from 100% chardonnay grapes is made through the traditional Charmat Methode producing a wine with a fine bead, elegant finesse and lingering citrus fruit on the palate. For your enjoyment and celebrations! 2013 De Beaurepaire: Botrytis Semillon – Coeur d’Or A luscious but refreshing Desert wine, made from Botrytised Semillon grapes picked on our vineyard in early April 2013. It has been lightly matured in premium French oak. A bright, clear golden colour with aromas of quince, pricot and some floral notes. A rich palate with a long lingering finish.. 2013 Merlot Caberent Petit Verdot A medium bodied Bordeauz style blend with beautiful berry, chocolate and spice flavours and soft smooth tannins. 2013 Rosé Another great cabernet vintage has led to this ruby pink Rose., with aromas of strawberry and spice. The crisp, fresh palate has flavours cherry and berry fruits, with a touch of sweetness and a long finish. Vin et Gastronomie: Charcuterie and Asian recipes would enhance the flavours . 2013 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc Displays classic cool climate fruit characteristics. Fresh and vibrant with bright light green gold in colour, with lemon and lime aromatics and a long crisp finish Drink chilled. Vin et Gastronomie: Thai or Vietnamese cuisine would be a perfect companion with this wine. Utilising the citrus notes and acidity you wouldn’t go wrong with a Green Mango Salad and Salt and Pepper Prawns. Alternatively, a homemade soup of Chicken, Italian Sausage, Speck and Cannellini Beans with crusty sourdough would be complimented by a wine of sufficient palate weight and its fresh lemon zestiness and cleansing nature.
