How long will the project take to complete?
The project will unfold in 2 phases:
Phase 1
This includes all public areas with a target completion date of late 2012.
This will entail the complete renovation of
- the Casino building, the Lookout and Pumphouse, all which provide the best views in the Blue Mountains
- the multi-purpose Conference Centre and the Grand Ballroom which has a seating capacity of 250 guests.
Phase 2
This includes all hotel rooms and dining facilities with a target completion date of 2013.
This will entail the complete renovation of
- 115 guestrooms
- Dining Facilities including the Flying Fox Restaurant and Cats Alley
- The 4 story Spa complex overlooking the Megalong Valley.

Who are the owners and who will be operating the Hydro Majestic Hotel?
The project to develop this icon in the Blue Mountains is spearheaded by conservative Sydney based operators/owners who have procured the best talent in the region for luxury projects.
Once completed will the Hydro Majestic Hotel maintain its historical grandeur?
All historical significant aspects of the Hydro Majestic Hotel will be retained and refurbished. We are peeling back the layers and bringing the property back to the glamorous thirties with all today’s comforts.
An example of this is the Pumphouse will be exposed and restored, marking the fact that the Blue Mountains was wired for electricity four days before the Sydney metropolitan region.

Which areas will be open to the public?
The Lookout, Pumphouse, the multi-purpose Conference Centre and the Grand Ballroom.
People will once again be able to enjoy lunch or high tea at the Hydro Majestic Hotel while taking in the best views of the Blue Mountains and the Megalong Valley.
Once Phase 2 is completed, the hotel areas will be sectioned off for the private use of hotel guests.
What has happened to all the existing antiques of the hotel?
Antiques will be restored and the heritage value is being conserved throughout the property.
The exterior architectural tones will have an off white colonial design. Throughout the interior, work has been planned to highlight the periods the property was built and added to - reflecting a combination of French Provincial, Edwardian, Victorian and Art Deco.
